trained by Master Mixologist Junior Merino, The Liquid Chef that have been
shaking up the world since their launch in 2007. The Liquid Team are the
soldiers of their general and are in charge of all of the events that are
contracted by The Liquid Chef, Inc. These dedicated individuals are
meticulous to the last detail when making Merino's amazing concoctions and
each comes from different parts of the globe, which brings more flavor to
The Liquid Team.

Agave Spirits Training at Symrise
Recently, The Liquid Chef Junior Merino facilitated an all day tequila
training for Symrise, which "is a global supplier of fragrances, flavorings,
cosmetic active ingredients and raw materials as well as functional
ingredients. Its clients include manufacturers of perfumes, cosmetics,
spirits and foods, the pharmaceutical industry and producers of nutritional
supplements."

30 of their employees were invited for an intense training on all spirits
made from the Agave. Participants tasted and learned about the terroir,
process, and flavor profiles of mezcal, tequila, sotol, bacanora, flavored
tequila, tequila crème, and a few other little surprises.
They were then taught 3 of Junior Merino's cocktails that Merino will be
making down in New Orleans for the IFT, a trade show in which Symrise and
The Liquid Chef, Inc. came together to collaborate on showcasing a few of
their key flavors such as citrus, exotic fruits, red fruits, vanilla, and
onion. That's right, I said, "onion"!

Hedge Funds Care Open Your Heart to Children's Benefit
For the sixth consecutive year, The Liquid Chef, Inc was a proud sponsor of
The Open Your Heart to Children's Benefit. The first Open Your Heart to the
Children benefit took place on February 9, 1999 and raised $542,000. What
began as a single fundraiser has grown into an international charity, with
events held and grants awarded in 8 U.S. cities and 3 additional countries:
Canada, the Cayman Islands, and the United Kingdom. |

And at this year's gala, HFC raised over $1 million dollars for this
wonderful cause.
The phenomenal and exponential growth of the organization over the past
decade is due in large part to the many dedicated and hard-working
volunteers who have raised support in their local areas. Hedge Funds Care
events offer the opportunity to network with colleagues in the hedge fund
industry while also raising money for an important cause: the prevention and
treatment of child abuse.

As the saying goes, "behind every great man there is a great woman." Heidi
Merino, a member of the Liquid Chef team and wife of master mixologist
Junior Merino, takes her place not behind but right next to her husband, and
often steals the show with her warm personality. With a colorful background
starting in Hawaii, Heidi has traveled the world studying culture, art,
theater, food and drink. Her involvement in the Liquid Chef was a
progression, starting when she was a ceviche chef at Rayuela, a line cook at
Crema and working with Junior part time as an assistant. "When the Liquid
Chef became more and more in demand, my husband needed more help," she said.
"I decided that I would rather work beside him to support his dreams in
making the Liquid Chef Inc a global company which eventually became a
reality."

Junior Merino... Arte en todos los sentidos!!!
En inglés hay una frase que dice "I am spoiled", que sig- nifica "estoy
malcriada". Pues eso mismo me pasó des- pués de probar las fascinantes
creaciones del mixólogo mexicano de 34 años, Junior Merino. Todo ocurrió en
un festival gastronómico en la ciudad de NY, cuando me sirvieron "El
Cúbico", una bebida con Siembra Azul Añejo, Dainzu, Navan, jugo piñas al
grill, infusión de tabaco y li- món. Desde ese día ya nada me parece igual y
si alguna bebida me gusta, siempre surge la coincidencia que la receta es de
él o quien la ha preparado ha sido su estu- diante, como me pasó en el
restaurante Rayuela de NY.

Junior Merino the liquid chef
It is no surprise master mixologist Junior Merino The Liquid Chef has built
his career on fusing exotic, unexpected flavors: He grew up in the culinary
melting-pot of Central Mexico. Beginning when Junior was just 10, his food-loving
parents taught him to cook with local produce ranging from indigenous cocoa
beans, to pomegranates native to the Middle East, to cilantro, which has
Mediterranean roots. Despite all these foods' varied origins, Junior saw
that in combination, they created harmony--planting in him an early passion
for culinary mestizaje or blending diverse flavors. It's a technique that's
helped Junior rise quickly in his field along with his intense work ethic.
